Seminar Presentation

OUTLINE

Regarding the purpose of this seminar, it is simply this: to supply the need in our educational system for instruction on that often misunderstood but fascinating subject of mankind’s and the earth’s beginnings.  The approach taken in the seminar is to show, through scientific evidence and theory, how the natural world itself points to a very clear understanding of what really happened in ages gone by. In addition, ethical values are woven into the presentation.

The presentation normally lasts for an hour. . . although, if a more thorough treatment of this broad subject is desired, then  more sessions can be arranged. It is done in power-point form and includes pictures and video clips. It may also include three or four songs (sung live) by the young people who sometimes accompany me. This helps to keep up the attention of the students, especially younger ones.

A thorough presentation would include all the topics mentioned below. However, the main focus is on section III, followed by a question-and-answer session, which will look into the other two sections.

I. THE WORLD OF PREHISTORY

A. Large size of plants and animals
B. Warm climate throughout the Earth
C. What about prehistoric man?
D. Explanation for the prehistoric world’s environment

II. FROM ONE ENVIRONMENT TO ANOTHER

A. The Cataclysm that rocked the old Earth
B. Scientific and cultural evidence
C. Re-creation of the Earth

III. DID WE EVOLVE BY CHANCE, OR WERE WE CREATED?

A. Complexity of biological life
B. Latest scientific discoveries (marvel of DNA – deoxyribonucleic acid structures)
C. What about “missing link” discoveries?
D. Genetic barriers in the natural world
E. Micro-evolution as opposed to macro-evolution
F. Conclusion

(For those students who are interested, a CD of the “Our Origins” contents with explanatory notes and video clips is available.)
